This weekend, +Works held +Coffees 3&4, our second round of grass roots meetings — one in Memorial and one in Southampton. Thank you, Elizabeth Carruth and Trish Morille, for hosting; and thank you to the parents, educators and mental health professionals who attended. We had an excellent crowd at our Memorial event yesterday, including Houston Dad, marriage and family therapist and +Parent Guide contributor John Morris AND parents from Second Baptist School, The Parish School, West U Elementary, Annunciation Orthodox School, The Kinkaid School, Spring Branch ISD, St. John’s School and others.
+Works co-founder Trish Morille hosted our +Coffee4 in her home today; and the crowd was similarly diverse and enthusiastic. Houston Mom, psychologist and +Parent Guide contributor Victoria Jones attended as did +Works Advisory Board member Susie Peake. We were also thrilled to welcome parents representing Presbyterian School, St. John’s School, Poe Elementary, Pin Oak Middle School, St. Michael’s Catholic School, The Kinkaid School — and two fabulous Teach for America teachers! Even a few hours post-event, we are feeling the +ripple effects from the enthusiasm generated via these energetic exchanges!
Thank you to everyone who joined the +Movement at these events by purchasing +Family Memberships and to all who went home and began to immediately make things happen via word of mouth, email, etc.! Together — as a community — we can make a REAL difference for our children.
