HOUSTON – The West U Rotary club has announced that +Works (pronounced positive works) will be the beneficiary of its annual golf tournament, to be held April 22 at Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land.
West U Rotary President Kathy Kokas said she recommended +Works to receive proceeds from the annual golf tournament as it perfectly dovetails with Rotary International’s 2013 theme of Peace Through Service at a local and grassroots level. “My decision to select +Works was based on a gut feel,” said Kokas. “What they are doing in our day and age is so critical. Many of us know someone — a child or an adult — who has been the target of bullying. Bullying can occur in the schoolyard or even in the workplace. The consequences are serious, and it is a cause that tugs at my heart.”
The April 22 tournament includes a four man scramble with a shotgun start at 1pm. For more information, to sign up to play or to be a sponsor, please contact Bob Geary at firstname.lastname@example.org or Geoff Lanceley at email@example.com.
