West U Rotary Powers +Movement with Another Big Chunk of +Change

HOUSTON, TEXAS — For the second consecutive year, Rotary Club of West University selected +Works as beneficiary of its Annual Spring Golf Tournament. At a weekly Rotary Club meeting on June 12, 2014, President Wally Kronzer presented +Works Co-founders Sarah Fisher and Trish Morille with a check for over $17,300, the nonprofit’s single largest donation to date.

“Change comes one positive voice at a time,” said Fisher in her remarks, quoting a new advertising campaign +Works’ will launch this fall.  “When you’re a nonprofit, change also comes one positive dollar at a time, and this fabulous donation represents a lot of positive change to come!”

When the Rotary Club’s golf committee first named +Works as beneficiary last year, it was the beginning of a relationship that has grown beyond one act of +Support. “You make a bigger impact for the charity if you can partner for multiple years. Golf Committee chairs Bob Geary and Geoff Lanceley loved working with +Works, and the club and foundation supported their selection. They realized that partnering again with +Works would enhance the golf tournament’s community impact,” said Wally Kronzer.

“We are so grateful to West U Rotary for their continued support,” said Morille. “These funds will enable +Works to expand our grass roots program in and beyond Houston and to showcase the tremendous work taking place within our +Community of schools.”

+Works is a parent-driven, grass roots nonprofit organization serving as a catalyst for positive community change on bullying and other trending issues that keep adults and children up at night.  Now in its fifth year,+Works’ +Community of schools includes eleven public, private and parochial Houston schools. Plans are in the works for an expansion of+Works’ +School Community program for the upcoming 2014-15 school year.
