LET’S HAVE FUN BEING HEARD
We had our first +Rally in October 2010 at our first +School Community, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Houston. We locked arms, shared music, spoke out and listened to enthusiastic supporters interested in creating a new sense of community — a community focused on higher behavior standards, a more civil discourse, and peace. And we had fun doing it!
+Works has since presented two +Concerts: March Forth for +PEACE in March 2013, and COMMUNITY COURAGEOUS: What Do You Stand For? in March 2014. Children from our +Community of Schools gathered to rehearse and present “flash music concerts” for their families and the Houston community. +Concert-themed art was displayed and poetry was performed on stage.
Fun, creativity, and an upbeat outlook on working together as a community are at the heart of everything we do, but they are at the very center of our +Voiceraisers. Coming together to share our creativity, and to have fun being heard on the issue of peace, can only bring us closer to our goal: more connected, more positive communities.
